Benefits Delivered
Congenica is a global leader in genomic medicine and uses cutting edge technology to support the use of genetic information to diagnose diseases. In 2018, HealthcareBids helped Congenica to respond to an invitation to tender (ITT) for a multi-year contract to provide decision support services to the 100,000 Genomes Project and to support the pioneering NHS Genomic Medicine Service.
Project summary
The tender process was extremely rigorous, requiring responses and evidence to be provided against an extensive list of technical requirements, a detailed mobilisation plan, a delivery plan covering the development and introduction of new functionality together with evidence of Congenica’s ability to provide training and user support. It also required a comprehensive executive summary to be prepared, covering the entire submission.
Congenica asked HealthcareBids to review and comment on draft tender responses and to provide guidance on how best to interpret and respond to searching questions regarding platform compliance versus technical requirements (not nearly as straightforward as it might sound!) and the delivery of additional functionality over the course of time.
In response to questions regarding technical compliance, Congenica was required to describe and evidence the features of its market-leading decision support platform. This included its usability, clinical accuracy, case throughput and commercial value. To ensure responses fully and faithfully represented the strengths of the platform, we worked with the Chief Product Officer to discuss and advise on Congenica’s approach to the tender.
HealthcareBids suggested changes to narrative where appropriate and re-drafted responses where required.
Outcome
We were delighted when, in October 2018, Congenica was named as the clinical decision support platform provider for the delivery of the NHS Genomic Medicine Service. Today, Congenica remains the exclusive provider for this key NHS service.
