Benefits delivered
HealthcareBids helped Ingeus with its response for the NHS Provider Framework tender for the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) and subsequently helped with its tenders to provide the programme in selected local areas. These tenders were successful and Ingeus was selected as a framework provider, as well as preferred provider for two of the local areas in the first phase of NDPP – the East Midlands and Leeds.
Project summary
Diabetes is a national health issue. Around 22,000 people die from the disease every year in England and it accounts for almost 10% of the annual NHS budget. A phased launch of The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) has begun, with national roll-out anticipated by 2020.
Four providers have been selected to join the NHS Provider Framework for NDPP. Local health commissioners will each select a framework provider to deliver diabetes prevention services to patients in their respective catchment areas.
One of the framework providers is Ingeus, a leading supplier of complex, large-scale public programmes in the UK and elsewhere. To deliver NDPP, Ingeus has partnered with the Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC), an internationally renowned NHS applied health research centre.
HealthcareBids was asked to assist with Ingeus’ framework tender response and then subsequently to help with its tenders to provide the programme in different local areas. We are hugely impressed with the service model that Ingeus has developed, so it was no surprise to learn of their appointment as a framework provider and then of their success in being announced as preferred provider for two of the local areas in the first phase of NDPP – the East Midlands and Leeds.
“HealthcareBids integrated very smoothly with the team, helped us achieve a very high quality score for our framework tender and then worked to a really demanding timeline for our first call-off submissions. I look forward to working with them on future projects.”
